The Process Scientist supports the engineering and manufacturing teams by analyzing and improving existing process methods, participating in R&D efforts, and working closely with other members of the Process Engineering team, technicians, customers, and vendors to accomplish established goals. Areas of responsibility will include soldering, heating, adhesives, polymers, metals, and other materials and processes related to the crystalline PV industry. Additionally, the successful candidate will attend industry conferences and develop and maintain relationships with research laboratories and universities worldwide.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute testing designed to characterize or validate existing or new processes
- Conduct research into process-related methods or equipment
- Generate clear and complete documentation, including experimental data and lab reports
- Undertake research projects and create associated papers for presentation/publication to industry. Good public speaking skills and willingness to present research findings at conferences is a must
- Develop in-house micro-level knowledge of Komax-owned processes related to cells, flux, ribbon, etc.
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 30%
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Post-graduate degree in physics or similar field pertinent to photovoltaic manufacturing
- Knowledge of semiconductor materials, processing, manufacturing, and function
- Knowledge of metallurgy desired
- Approximately (5) years work experience in the crystalline PV industry
- Knowledge of DoE and statistical analysis methods desired
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Must be willing to enter into a non-competition agreement
