IMEC's More Moore research targets semiconductor scaling for the 22nm technology node and beyond. With its More than Moore research, IMEC invents technology for nomadic embedded systems, wireless autonomous transducer solutions, biomedical electronics, photovoltaics, organic electronics and GaN power electronics.
To support the research activities in the Photovoltaics group, we are currently looking for a Group Leader Solar Cell Technology.
The Solar Cell Technology Group at IMEC aims at developing low-cost scalable high-efficiency solar cell technologies, thereby leveraging maximally the supporting skills, present at IMEC around semiconductor physics, processing and analysis. This activity comprises about 50 people and is one of the strongest growing domains within IMEC. We are presently looking for a Group Leader Solar Cell Technology, who will head 6 Solar Cell Teams.
Job description
Based on your expertise within photovoltaics you will take up responsibility for the technical management of the Solar Cell Technology group.
This comprises a number of tasks:
- You are responsible for continuously enhancing the expertise level in the group and ensuring world-class publications and R&D, by giving technical/scientific guidance to the different teams;
- You actively contribute to the long term technical/scientific strategy and equipment needs built-up;
- You define and follow-up on the short-term technical/scientific objectives of the teams and team members, in close collaboration with program/project manager(s);
- You are responsible for refining, together with the management team, the required human resources and competences to execute the strategy and deliver the requested results timely;
- You manage and allocate these human resources according to the needs of the internal and external projects in line with priorities set at department level;
- You manage the group budget.
Profile
- You have a PhD degree (or comparable through proven experience) in Photovoltaics;
- You have a few years of experience in managing researchers;
- English proficiency is mandatory;
- You have excellent communication skills.
