This position supports the Applied SunFab™ team.

Responsibilities
Responsible for process integration and yield analysis of thin film solar panel manufacturing processes to enable ramp from TD to HVM (high volume manufacturing) stages. This is an interdisciplinary role in the TD group which will require interfacing with multiple teams: TD process development (both front and back end of line), reliability, hardware engineering, factory software automation & data collection, and technology deployment teams.
  • Design experiments and conduct analysis of variation to optimize process steps with a view to maximizing panel performance and minimizing manufacturing cost. This includes the full sequence of factory production steps and the related process flow.
  • Recommend and implement equipment and/or process modification keeping in mind the process stability and control.
  • In parallel define and develop process integration and yield analysis methodologies and infrastructure.
Job Specific Knowledge Experience/knowledge in several of the following:
  •  
    • TD to HVM ramp integration/yield
    • DOE and ANOVA
    • Physics of solar thin film devices
    • Metrology (both defect and parametric)
    • Factory experience with tool specification and qualification for HVM
    • Ability to write scripts in JMP, MatLab, VB, C

Education
  • BS in Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or related technical discipline, and 8+ years directly related experience, or equivalent.
  • MS in Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or related technical discipline, and 5+ years directly related experience, or equivalent is preferred.
  • Previous work experience: process engineering experience in a development or manufacturing environment.
