Our high growth and position in the renewable energy industry offers outstanding opportunities to individuals seeking an exciting work environment in one of the most important industries for the 21st century. Our culture is one where teamwork, continuous improvement, achievement of results, and environmental responsibility are core values. We are seeking new associates that are motivated to contribute their talents to making cost effective solar energy an important part of the world’s energy mix.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for process and applications development using vapor transport deposition (VTD) technology for the formation of semiconductor thin-films on glass for photovoltaic devices. Activities will include: investigation of new hardware, developing metrology for vacuum deposition systems, designing and executing test matrices, and troubleshooting of vacuum systems.
- Provides expertise for design and development of process systems, modules and subcomponents of semiconductor deposition equipment to be operated in a vacuum environment.
- The candidate will be expected to be proficient in the theory and operations of vacuum deposition systems. Knowledge of vapor transport deposition (VTD) systems preferred.
- Work closely with manufacturing engineering and operators to transfer process improvements from development to production.
- Apply low energy plasma and laser process for research/development of subcomponents of semiconductor deposition equipment involving hands-on design, testing and qualifying of equipment, and user interaction.
- Highly organized and able to work on several projects at once. The position requires an individual who is able to meet deadlines and work in a fast paced environment.
- Analyze test results, write reports on process development and qualification of new process/products.
- Develop and write equipment specifications, performance requirements, and operational work instructions.
- Participate in developing new vacuum deposition techniques, related tools and technologies.
- Occasionally, maintain and repair vacuum systems and various metrology equipments.
Experience Requirements:
- At least 5-8 years of practical experience in process development engineering preferably in semiconductor deposition within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong Process Engineering background is required. Experience in Six Sigma methodologies, SPC, DOE and data analysis experience is highly desired.
- Experience with semiconductor processes and metrology techniques with a strong mechanical aptitude and good understanding of pneumatic, electrical and vacuum systems. Experience in vacuum system diagnostics and design of metrology for vacuum systems preferred.
- Strong knowledge in the area of thin film optical characterization.
Education Requirements:
- Advanced degree in Electrical, Chemical, Material Science, Physics or similar technical discipline
- PhD preferred
