In this key position you will be involved in the strategic direction of SolarWorld. This position requires an engineer who is dynamic and innovative in product design & engineering and is ready to develop state-of-the-art solar power systems. As a member of the major projects team you will work with sales, marketing and project implementation team members to define best practices in the system design and construction areas with a keen eye for cost reduction strategies.

Position Accountabilities

Primary responsibilities for this position include:

• Develop standard designs for residential and commercial PV systems
• Design and engineer project specific engineering and fabrication drawings and deliver “Permit Ready” and “Ready For Construction” drawing packages.
• Work with Project Managers and Project Engineers to install PV systems
• Write technical sections of Project proposals, including system performance analysis
• Develop cost reduction strategies through innovation in system designs and engineering

Position Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:

• Degree in Engineering, preferably a PE in Electrical Engineering and not less than 5 years of design and engineering experience (electrical power, construction, etc.)
• B1 Contractors license is a plus
• This position requires an ability to develop electrical single-line diagrams, schematics, system drawings and engineering calculations. Review customer supplied drawings for proper engineering interface and utility interconnection.
• Desire to join a highly entrepreneurial, fast moving, rapidly changing, cohesive team of peers working within a start-up environment.
• Strong desire to bring best practices to the team, share your knowledge and expertise and enable your team members’ mutual success as the organization continues to grow.
