HR Director
Applied Materials

• Serves as HR Country Manager for Germany and as the matrixed senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) for the Solar and related business units within Germany.

• Ensures that Human Resources objectives align to the achievement of business unit objectives.
• Provides counsel and guidance to senior management regarding strategic HR planning on a country level.
• Manages exempt HR professionals.
• Counsels and coaches senior management concerning business operational, organizational structure & design and employee development issues, including policy interpretation and recommendations for action
• Performs other duties as assigned

Job Specifications:

Knowledge:

- Expert HR functional knowledge, legal, and Regulatory Requirements within European Union.

- Knowledge of external systems and software in support of regional service center (PeopleSoft and SAP preferred).

Education and Experience:

- B.S. level degree in related field

- 12+ years of experience in Human Resources, including 7 years+ in a management or individual contributor role supporting client groups in a line or corporate support organization or equivalent

- Masters level degree in a related field preferred

- High Technology industry experience

- Previous HR experience in a role within a Center of Expertise/Shared Services model

- Experience in global/multi-national organizations

- Ability to manage through ambiguity

- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills as well as highly developed organizational skills
