Reliablity Engineer
First Solar, Inc.

Basic Job Function: Self motivated and proven leader responsible for ensuring the product is reliable and meets customer requirements in the filed through reliability modeling of products at First Solar reliability labs.

Required Skills:

- Knowledge of Semiconductors, Device Physics and Thin Film Technology.

- Knowledge of the function, characteristics, measurement, and application of PV Modules.

- Experience in Accelerated Life Testing practices, procedures and equipment.

- Experience in Cell, Module, and Field level durability testing.

-Possess excellent data handling skills and proven communications.

- Proven skills in problem solving and Root Cause Analysis.

- Knowledge of vacuum deposition systems and glass handling (a plus).

- Serves as technical/business focal point for materials engineering contributions in new product development, supplier selection, and supplier process definition related to procured parts, components, materials, and subassemblies. 

- Lead and facilitate Cross Functional Teams assessing new and second source component suppliers\' technologies to successful qualifications-manufacturability.

- Experience in semiconductor industry or PV technology industry in the following areas is strongly preferred: Product reliability testing and modeling (In-house and Field Testing)

- Component qualification

- Design of reliability tests and automation systems for data logging, analysis and reporting.

- Knowledge of Semiconductors, Device Physics and Thin Film Technology.

Qualification Requirements: BS EE, Physics, Chemical Engineering is required. MS EE, Physics, Chemical Engineering is preferred. 3-5 years working in reliability engineer role is required. Semiconductor / thin film related industry preferred.
