Responsibilities
Responsible for all Solar sales management activities for strategic or regional accounts. Responsible for developing strong customer relationships and understanding their technical needs for current products and services, as well as their direction as it relates to future business opportunities.
- Has overall accountability for planning, executing and submitting the Annual Sales Business Plan.
- Oversees all strategic account plans and objective planning for both account-specific plans and product-specific plans.
- Plans, coordinates, prepares standards of presentations, and conducts periodic account status reviews with the Sales Director and the General Manager as appropriate.
- Ensures accurate and timely booking status of all sales opportunities pending, monitors if necessary and expedites progress toward quarterly and annual sales commitments.
- Represents Applied Materials’ interests in customer negotiations; conducts follow-up on accounts receivable resulting from sales.
- Manages expenses for sales department under his or her control within guidelines and departmental budget.
- Building strong customer relationships and coordinating customer demonstrations.
- Based on strong market knowledge and customer requirements, transforming these requirements in to product specifications.
Required Knowledge and Experience
- BS/MS level degree in a technical discipline (e.g. chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemistry, etc.) or equivalent experience.
- 2-5 years of direct sales experience of capital-intensive goods.
- Ability to effectively interface with customers.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Possess a thorough understanding of sales skills and tactics, and have demonstrated use of these skills in the past.
- Must be able to work in various locations; significant travel expected.
- Excellent communication skills including ability to successfully influence and negotiate complex "deals" in difficult situations.
Job Specific Knowledge
- Must be a quick learner and be able to acquire in-depth understanding of the customer base in the Solar industry; in-depth knowledge of the specific technology and products, and competition in these areas; in-depth knowledge of sales cycles for capital equipment, sales strategies, market penetration, account management and strategies to achieve bookings and gross margins.
- Must have understanding of the technical capabilities of the specific products assigned.
