Required Knowledge & Experience: Skills and abilities to perform job include strong analytical skills; strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills; strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills; very computer literate; detail orientated; exercises mature judgement; ability to work in a team; ability to acquire skills necessary to assemble, service, and troubleshoot process related equipment; ability to work independently; ability to influence other people; and ability to act as mentor. Knowledge and skills typically acquired by a completed BS in Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or related technical discipline [or equivalent knowledge] and 5+ years directly related experience; MS in Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or related technical discipline [or equivalent knowledge] and 2+ years directly related experience preferred. Preferred previous work experience: process engineering experience in a development or manufacturing environment.

Job Specific Knowledge & Experience: This position is in the Solar Business Group

Primarily thin film silicon but also crystalline and poly-crystalline silicon solar cells Required Skills - Physicist: Metal PVD and characterization: material science of metal interfaces, hands on experience in physical vapor deposition, film characterization, patterning approaches. Responsibilities: Within safety guidelines perform hardware characterization on difficult systems. Measure film properties and interpret data. Troubleshoot, perform Root Cause Analysis, and resolve difficult process engineering issues. Generate internal and external documentation for products, presentations, and technical reports. Interact with customers to resolve process engineering issues. Implement new technology, products, and analytical instrumentation. Identify, select and work with vendors and suppliers.
