We are seeking to recruit an experienced “Market Analyst” to join our fast growing and successful PV Research Group based in our UK offices.
We are looking for candidates with at least 1-2 years’ work experience in the solar PV sector. You should have a good degree in a numerate / technical subject such as: electronics / electrical / mechanical / telecommunication engineering, physics or business.
The Role
As a Market Analyst at IMS Research you will work closely with customers at every stage of a project. The role involves:
- Project management of detailed market research reports with responsibility for the entire process, including identification of needs, planning, research, analysis and occasional client presentations.
- Business development, notably telephone sales efforts to both existing and new customers.
- Contributing to the group’s overall sales and marketing efforts
- Significant travel (mostly international) and candidates must have a current passport and full driving license.
- Responsibility for the development of an “area of expertise” in a technical marketplace.
Your Profile
The successful applicant will require the following skills:
- Excellent understanding of, and experience in the solar PV industry
- Highly numerate and comfortable manipulating and presenting statistics in a variety of formats.
- Ability to conduct in-depth research into both upstream and downstream PV markets with limited supervision and guidance
- Excellent communication skills and ability to spend significant time instigating and conducting telephone and in-person discussions with key industry stakeholders for both research and sales purposes.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Intermediate or advanced Excel skills with experience of producing spreadsheets, graphs and tables.
- Creative, inquisitive and persistent and enjoy solving analytical problems.
- Good project management skills.

Working hours are 8.30am – 5pm Monday to Thursday 8.30am – 4pm Friday (39 hours a week). Analysts are occasionally required to work longer hours when on business travel or at completion of a project.
