PECVD (Senior) Process Engineer

Hanwha Solar America is a US affiliate of Hanwha Chemical Corp., which is a Korean company with manufacturing operations in China and development labs in Korea. Hanwha Solar America is establishing an advanced R&D lab in Silicon Valley where a team of engineers and scientists will develop new technologies for photovoltaic solar power.

Position description: As Process Engineer (or Senior Process Engineer, as appropriate), you will be part of a select team collaboratively responsible for the development of new and improved fabrication processes for next-generation photovoltaic products with an emphasis on crystalline silicon. Your specific responsibilities will focus on Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition (PECVD) of silicon and silicon compounds, ranging from equipment and process commissioning to a later focus on process performance and optimization.

Responsibilities: ● Developing test plans for materials and processes. ● Documenting procedures and results obtained. ● Performing experimental processes safely and accurately. ● Troubleshooting equipment issues as they arise. ● Developing and maintaining vendor relationships.

Education: ● Engineering or Applied Science: Bachelor’s or equiv. ● Advanced degrees welcome

Qualifications: ● At least four years of experience in a high-tech environment since receipt of Bachelor’s degree, including at least two years of experience in the commissioning and operation of PECVD equipment. ● Previous experience in photovoltaics is highly desirable. ● Good communication and computer skills. ● Must be eligible to live and work in the USA.
