DuPont's Research Triangle Park site has a need for a Research Investigator - Thick Film Product Formulation within its Microcircuit Materials business.  This position is Research and Development targeted to the formulation of new thick film compositions for a broad variety of electronic materials applications.
 
Responsibilities to include:

• Develop Thick Film conductive and dielectric formulations with targeted performance characteristics for use in a wide range of Microcircuit Materials (MCM) thick film and Low Temperature Co-Fired Ceramic (LTCC) applications, including PhotoVoltaic materials.
• Provide assistance to production for successful product scale-up.
• Direct the work of at least one technician and work closely with multi-functional teams consisting of other formulation scientists, process engineers, metal and glass powders scientists and technicians.
• Be expected to write research reports, publish scientific journal articles and publish patents as needed to support new product research and development efforts.

Qualifications

• A PhD in Chemistry (Organic, Inorganic or Physical), Materials Science, Ceramics, Metallurgy or a closely related field.
• Strong technical and functional skills, and a demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple, complex, time-sensitive projects in a team environment.
• The ability to setup and run statistically designed experiments to improve performance of products and processes.
• Research experience in the development of electronic materials is preferred.
• A proven track record in developing and bringing products to commercialization and volume manufacturing is desired.
• Certification as a Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt is preferred.
