DuPont is seeking a Research Investigator to work in its Microcircuit Materials business at the Research Triangle Park facility in North Carolina.  

 

Research and development targeted to the formulation of new thick film compositions for the PV marketplace.  Development of understanding of variables impacting contact mechanisms of metallization compositions on crystalline silicon solar cells and application of these understandings to new formulations with superior performance to existing products. The position will have at least one direct technical report and will work closely with multi-functional teams consisting of other formulation scientists, process engineers, metal and glass powder scientist and technicians.  The candidate will be expected to write patents, publish papers at conferences and lead programs with external partners.

 

DuPont Microcircuit Materials (MCM) is a leading supplier of specialized ceramic, polymer thick film compositions (PTF) and GreenTape™ low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) materials world wide. MCM technologies are advancing a wide range of applications, including photovoltaic solar energy, LED lighting solutions, automotive and consumer electronics, displays, and military defense systems, to name a few.
 
Qualifications
  • A PhD in Inorganic Chemistry, Materials Science, Ceramics, Solid State Physics or a closely related field is required. 
  • Experience in crystalline Si cell production processes or materials is preferred. 
  • A proven track record in developing and bringing products to commercialization and volume manufacturing is desirable.
  • Strong technical and functional skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple, complex, time-sensitive projects in a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, a high degree of initiative and self-motivation, and effective oral and written
    communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team building skills are desirable.
