Senior Electrical Engineer - Solar Systems Design

Sharp Corporation have been designing and manufacturing photovoltaic systems for over 50 years and are a world leader in photovoltaic (PV) solar technologies and systems for renewable energy generation.
Our European Design Centre (EDC) based in our Research Laboratory in Oxford has supported the successful sales growth of LCD’s and camera systems to the European market through custom design engineering. Due to these achievements, the team is expanding to support the development of next generation electrical and electronic PV system products for the commercial and residential European markets.
We seek an accomplished Electrical Engineer to join the EDC and develop new project activities in solar system products. The role will include:
· Electrical and electronic design, development and evaluation of new PV systems and technologies.
· Collaborating closely with our business units and engineering teams in Europe and
Japan to support market requirements.
· Identifying and understanding the technical requirements of the market in support of new business development.
· Previous experience of working in an industrial environment.
· An understanding of power electronics, systems design engineering, control and communication principles.
· Knowledge of solar systems or related technologies would be an advantage, but is not essential.
In addition, candidates should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have evidence of project management and team-working. Furthermore, they will be highly motivated, flexible and eager to excel in a growing market area.

SALARY: to £30,000 - £40,000 depending on skills and experience.
