VON ARDENNE North America has an opening for an experienced vacuum equipment engineer who will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and servicing coating systems at customers' sites. The ideal candidate has a BS or MS degree and 5+ years experience with vacuum processes; sputtering, E-beam, thermal evaporation. Requires knowledge of: magnetrons, power supplies, vacuum pumps, pressure gauges, Siemens plc based controls and instrumentation. VON ARDENNE supplies vacuum coating equipment for the manufacture of thin film solar cells. VON ARDENNE coating systems deposit transparent conductive oxides (TCO) and metal contact layers as well as active absorber layers consisting of semiconductors such as CIS and CdTe. These layers are applied on materials such as glass, metal or plastic foils. In addition, VON ARDENNE supplies systems for back side metallization and passivation of silicon solar cells. Manufacturers of photovoltaic products are facing growing competition for higher efficiency solar cells with lower cost production processes and shorter innovation cycles. VON ARDENNE addresses this challenge with plant engineering and know-how.
