JOB SUMMARY:
The formulation chemist - Photovoltaics (PV) is responsible for supporting the Electronic Materials team with all aspects of metallization paste formulation and characterization. The chemist defines formulations, sets up, performs and manages the execution of experiments. He/she is also responsible for organizing the characterization of the metallization pastes and coordinating the device testing respectively with the Analytical group and the PV device characterization team. He/she interfaces closely with the other scientists to help establish structure-properties relationships between ink formulation, processing conditions and solar cell performance. Working in collaboration with the process engineer, the formulation scientist develops manufacturable products that can be scaled to pilot and industrial production. As part of his/her role, the formulation chemist will develop technical datasheets and processing guidelines for new formulations and write technical reports illustrating performance and value proposition. He/she will work with the Process Engineering team to scale-up the new formulations and arrange the sampling of experimental products. As part of this role, the chemist will also investigate materials for next generation solar cell structures and help Sun develop a multi-generation product plan and material IP position.
