Job Description :

In this position the individual will be a hands-on process development contributor, developing and maintaining processes on production tools. The successful candidate will have (1) hands-on process experience in sputtering of multi-layer thin films and demonstrated the ability to develop procedures for operating web-based PVD systems, (2) Interactions with upstream and downstream manufacturing processes, (3) deep understanding of the impact of process parameters on material and establish correlations to define a robust manufacturable process, (4) hands-on experience with PVD equipment and be able to drive custom equipment design modifications to optimize performance, (5) understand inspection techniques and metrology of sputtered films and must be a practitioner of statistical analysis methods for process control, (6) must be able to work effectively on cross-functional teams on a number of simultaneous tasks and must be willing to work flexible hours depending on the work load.

• Responsible for improvement of existing products and new product development & R&D
• Responsible for the quality and productivity of PVD processes.
• Provide technical and non-technical support to operators on production floor.
• Monitor and up-date procedures and maintain inventories of targets, condition of cathodes, shields and essential spare parts for production.
• Monitor and update data logging system and perform statistics as required.
• Train and monitor production personnel as needed on proper production techniques and polices.
• Interface with maintenance and quality control personnel to maintain and set standards for process and product reliability & control.
• Responsible for coordinating the maintenance of the sputtering machines.
• Organize process data using SPC techniques for process control improvement evaluation.

Job Requirements :

• Experience with thin-film vacuum technology in production environment
• Strong background in sputtering and vacuum coating deposition technology, process development, mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge.
• Good communication, interpersonal, organizational and project management skills.
• Experience with lean manufacturing, SPC and statistical analysis skills are extremely valuable for this job.
• Advanced degree in Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, or Physics
• Experience with analytical methods and tools used for evaluating thin-film properties (Dektak, XRF, XRD, SIMS, AFM, SEM…)
• Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
• Experience with statistical tools and statistical data analysis such as JMP.
• Driven individual that excels in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with roll-to-roll web processing desirable
