RESEARCH ACTIVITIES
IN
PHOTOVOLTAIC TECHNOLOGY
At the moment around 275 employees are working at Kaneka Belgium N.V. which is an affiliate of Kaneka Corporation (consolidated group approx. 7,500 employees), a very successful and profitable Japanese company with a broad product range. Kaneka Belgium N.V. exists for more than 30 years and is located at Westerlo. The company develops, produces and sells chemical products for the construction, automotive and adhesive industries.
To expand the European activities of Kaneka on solar cells, Kaneka Belgium N.V. has recently set up a research center for photovoltaic technology. Together with the Japanese R&D center and IMEC as a Belgian partner, the new research activities are focusing on silicon-solar cell technology. Kaneka is recognized world-wide as a specialist in developing and producing high efficiency thin film silicon-solar cells.
To strengthen its research center for photovoltaic technology, Kaneka is looking for:

Job Content
- You work together with well-experienced Kaneka’s researchers for the efficiency improvement of thin film silicon solar cells.
- You conduct innovative research on silicon-solar cells in collaboration with IMEC well- established laboratories in Europe.
Profile
You are passionate by research regarding renewable energy and solar systems. You have demonstrated ability to independently conduct research activities that further team project goals. A PhD degree in physics or material science & engineering is mandatory for this position. A profound knowledge of semiconductors and preferably a background in crystalline silicon-solar cells is welcome.
